I am Jesse Armine, a queer graphic artist and sometimes-writer with schizophrenia operating under the name ELDRITCH TREE. Poetry has been a critical tool in my perennial struggle to navigate the harsh Otherworld: the landscape of bitter logics, psychoses, and self-loathing-made-alive where I find myself often a castaway. The poems in this chapbook are a handful of artifacts, reflections on the dialogue between SUPPLICATION and RESISTANCE, two opposing desires governing my journey through life with illness. I offer them to you in hopes that they might give shape to something in your own life for which you cannot find the words, or, if nothing else, that you might delight in their charting of strange, hostile places.
